Saint Peter's Church in Bornem is the central parish church of this picturesque village on the Scheldt. The church, located on Sint-Amandstraat, was built in a classical style and is a landmark of the village thanks to its monumental tower. The interior contains baroque statues, an ornate high altar and an organ that is regularly played at concerts. The church forms the heart of the village community and the starting point for walks along the Scheldt and the Bornem castle.

Accessibility is partial because of the historic character of the building. The main entrance has a slight threshold, but help is usually available or a portable ramp can be provided on prior request. The interior of the church is on a single level and offers sufficient space for wheelchair users in the main nave. Some side chapels and the choir are slightly raised and require extra assistance. An adapted toilet is available to a limited extent at the nearby municipal community centre.

Parking is possible at the Kerkplein, with a few disabled parking spaces near the entrance. The centre of Bornem is largely paved, although there are some cobblestones on the market square. The church is reachable by bus from Bornem station, about ten minutes away. Combine a visit to the church with a walk along the Scheldt or a tour of the village.
