Postel Abbey lies in the far north of Mol and was founded in 1140 as a branch of Floreffe Abbey. The Premonstratensian community is still active today and manages not only the historic abbey church but also a herb garden, a cheese dairy, and a brewery. The surrounding estate consists largely of woods and heathland, a beautiful green setting on the Dutch border.

Accessibility is partial. The abbey church has several steps at the front facade, but there is a side entrance with a low threshold through which wheelchair users can reach the nave. The interior is level on the ground floor. The visitor reception and the shop selling abbey products are modern with a step-free entrance and an adapted toilet. The historic herb garden has semi-paved paths that are easily navigable in dry weather; they can become muddy after rain.

There is a large car park with disabled parking spaces near the abbey. The Postel Heath woodlands extend around the grounds, with several paved main avenues suitable for wheelchair walks. Postel is an oasis of calm, ideal to combine with a visit to the nearby De Maat nature reserve and the Zilvermeer.
