Domein Drie Fonteinen in Vilvoorde is a sprawling recreation area on the edge of Brussels, popular with families, walkers and sports enthusiasts. The estate features ancient trees, a large swimming pond, several playgrounds and an extensive network of paths and cycle tracks. The combination of greenery, water and recreation makes it a favourite day trip, especially in the warm season.
The main walking and cycling paths are fully paved and barrier-free, making them excellent for wheelchairs, mobility scooters and handbikes. An accessible toilet with support bars and ample turning space is available in the reception area. Benches and adapted picnic tables are scattered along the paths. The playground has a few inclusive play units that can also be used by children in a wheelchair.
The large car park offers several accessible parking spaces near the main entrance, with a fully paved connection to the path network. Access to the estate is free; separate charges apply for the swimming area. The swimming pond has an adapted access via a gentle ramp with a hoist system on request. Accessible bus stops are within short walking distance.
