GlazenHuis Glass Museum Lommel
GlazenHuis in Lommel is the Flemish Centre for Contemporary Glass Art, a unique museum that combines the rich tradition of Belgian glass art with international contemporary glasswork. Lommel has a long history as a glass town thanks to a nearby glassworks factory. Visitors can admire exhibitions by world-renowned glass artists and watch live demonstrations in the glassblowing studio, where masters shape glass in the traditional way. Workshops for adults and children are also on offer.
The modern museum building has been designed to be fully wheelchair accessible. The entrance is flat, all exhibition rooms are step-free and every level is reachable by lift. The demonstrations in the open glassblowing studio are clearly visible from any position, including from a wheelchair. Adapted toilets are available on several floors.
Ample free parking with accessible spaces is provided next to the museum. Lommel is located in northern Limburg, easily reached via the E34/A2. GlazenHuis lies next to the Dommelhof and the centre of Lommel, making it easy to combine a visit with shopping, dining or an outing into the surrounding Kempen countryside.
