Fashion Museum Hasselt
The Fashion Museum Hasselt is the only museum in Flanders dedicated entirely to fashion and textiles. It showcases both historical costumes and contemporary designers through changing exhibitions. The museum is housed in an 18th-century town house on the Gasthuisstraat, extended with a modern wing.
The modern wing makes the museum largely wheelchair accessible. The entrance is step-free and a lift connects the different floors of the exhibition section. Adapted toilets are available, and the exhibition rooms are spacious enough for smooth circulation. Disabled parking spaces can be found in the nearby underground Kolonel Dusart car park. Some small rooms in the historic section may feel tighter.
Hasselt itself is a compact city with a largely car-free centre and flat brick paving. The museum combines excellently with a visit to the Jenever Museum or the Japanese Garden. Visitors with a disability can consult the accessibility sheet on the website and request a guided tour in advance.
