Museum of Brewing Brussels
The Museum of Brewing is located in the guild house of the Belgian Brewers on Brussels' Grand Place. Its collection introduces visitors to the history of Belgian beer brewing, from medieval craft techniques to modern production methods. A visit traditionally ends with a tasting of a Belgian beer in the historic café on the ground floor.
The museum is partially accessible for wheelchair users. The main entrance is step-free via a built-in ramp, and both the reception area and the café are on the ground floor. The historic cellar rooms, where a large part of the brewing collection is displayed, are unfortunately only reachable via a narrow stone staircase. An adapted toilet is available in the ground-floor sanitary area.
The Grand Place is entirely covered with historic cobblestones, which can be a challenge for wheelchair users; smoother strips have been laid along the edge of the square. Accessible parking spaces are available in the public Grote Markt car park. Visitors with a European Disability Card and their companion get a discounted admission.
