Chez Léon has been an institution in the Brussels Rue des Bouchers since 1893. The restaurant turned mussels into a national speciality and serves hundreds of guests every day, from all over Belgium and beyond. The classic formula remains the same: large pots of mussels with fries, white wine by the glass and a homely atmosphere in a long, narrow dining room with wooden service.

The restaurant is partially accessible for wheelchair users. The main entrance on Rue des Bouchers is step-free, with a flat door at street level. The dining room stretches further back as one long narrow corridor, with some small steps between seating areas that can be bridged with help. The staff are used to assisting guests with reduced mobility and will happily guide you to a suitable table towards the front. The toilet is on a lower floor and only reachable via a staircase; there is no adapted toilet. Public accessible toilets are available in the nearby Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert.

Rue des Bouchers is largely paved with cobbles. For a more comfortable approach, use the entry from Rue de la Bourse. Reserved parking spaces can be found in the underground car park of the Grand Place. By metro lines 1 or 5 via Bourse or De Brouckère, the restaurant is a few minutes' push away.
