♿ Wheelchair accessible

The Provincial Domain of Huizingen is an expansive 91-hectare recreation area in Beersel, in the province of Flemish Brabant. The domain offers an impressive variety of activities and facilities: an animal park with farm animals and exotic species, a large playground, an outdoor swimming pool, botanical gardens and extensive walking paths through woodland and open landscapes. It is one of the most popular day-trip destinations in the Brussels periphery.

Accessibility at the domain is good. The main paths are paved and flat, suitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. A particular highlight is the adapted tourist train that runs through the entire domain and is wheelchair accessible, making it easy to reach even the more distant areas of the park. Adapted toilets are available at the visitor centre, the swimming pool and the animal park. The playground includes adapted play elements for children with disabilities.

The domain is accessible via the E19 and the N6 and has a spacious car park with PMR spaces. Access to the domain is free in the low season; a small fee is charged during peak season. The domain is open year-round and offers something special in every season, from the floral abundance of spring to the autumn colours in the orchards.
