Brasserie Oud Bellegem Beersel
Brasserie Oud Bellegem in Beersel is an authentic Pajottenland brasserie with a warm, family atmosphere. The interior breathes the spirit of the region: old wooden beams, brown leather benches, a large stove and walls covered with nostalgic photos of old geuze breweries. The menu features classic Belgian dishes such as beef stew, meatballs in tomato sauce and rabbit in kriek, alongside local specialities like Brussels cheese and rye bread with cottage cheese and radishes.
The brasserie has been specifically adapted for accessibility during a recent renovation. The main entrance is fully step-free, and the spacious ground-floor dining room offers excellent passages between the tables. An accessible toilet with all the necessary features is centrally located in the restaurant. The terrace, in a walled courtyard, is reachable via a flat transition. The staff are friendly and helpful and know the menu inside out.
Brasserie Oud Bellegem has its own car park with two reserved PRM spaces close to the entrance. The brasserie is a short distance from Beersel Castle, a 14th-century moated castle known as one of the best-preserved medieval castles in Flanders. The immediate surroundings are mostly flat and offer good opportunities for a wheelchair-friendly walk in the Pajottenland.
