B&B Luttelkolen Holsbeek
B&B Luttelkolen is a renovated farmhouse in the heart of the Hageland, set in a quiet rural location between Holsbeek and Nieuwrode. The family B&B offers two guest rooms in the main building plus an adapted holiday-home studio in an extension, specifically suitable for wheelchair users or people with limited mobility. VisitFlanders and Toerisme Vlaams-Brabant refer to Luttelkolen as one of the adapted accommodations in the Hageland network.
The adapted studio has a step-free entrance from the own parking, a ground-floor bedroom-sitting area with plenty of manoeuvring space, and a bathroom with roll-in shower fitted with grab rails. The kitchenette is fitted with a roll-under worktop and hob for those who want to cook independently — handy for longer stays of a few days or a week. A small private terrace gives access to the farmhouse garden.
The rural setting is both an asset and a point of attention: the surrounding walking paths are partly semi-paved (grass paths and gravel), which can feel a bit uneven for finely tuned wheelchairs. Ask the owners for the flattest route towards Horst castle and the walking network. For a Hageland outing, Luttelkolen is a quiet base on a triangle between Leuven, Diest, Aarschot and Tienen — all four 20-30 minutes' drive away. - Busy and quiet times
- Spring and autumn (May + September-October) are the most popular for the Hageland walking/cycling routes. Midweek winter bookings give peace and the best rates.
