♿ Wheelchair accessible

Wijnegem Shopping Center is the largest covered shopping centre in Belgium, with more than 200 shops, restaurants and a cinema complex. It opened in 1973 and has been extended several times since. The entire complex is on one level, which makes it particularly suitable for visitors with a wheelchair or pram.

The shopping centre is fully wheelchair-accessible. All shops and restaurants can be reached step-free via wide corridors and automatic sliding doors. Adapted toilets are spread across several locations within the complex and are clearly signposted. At the information desk, wheelchairs and mobility scooters can be borrowed free of charge on presentation of an ID card.

The shopping centre has 5,000 free parking spaces, including many reduced-mobility spaces near every entrance. The De Lijn Liftbus, which runs directly from Antwerp to the centre, is fully wheelchair-accessible. Rest areas with benches are provided throughout the centre, ideal for a short pause in between shops.
