Hotel Carolus Mechelen
Hotel Carolus is housed in a renovated part of the historic Het Anker brewery, close to the Grand Beguinage of Mechelen. The hotel combines the industrial charm of old brewery walls with modern comfort. In the restaurant downstairs an honest regional cuisine is served with the in-house Gouden Carolus beers as a common thread. The location is unique: between the UNESCO beguinage and the brewery building.
The hotel has specially set up wheelchair-accessible rooms with a roll-in shower, support rails, and a lowered washbasin. The entrance on the street side is step-free, and all common areas - reception, restaurant, bar, and inner courtyard - are reachable via lifts or ramps. The restaurant on the ground floor has a spacious arrangement with sufficient passage between the tables.
A private car park with reserved spaces for visitors with a mobility card is located right next to the hotel. From Mechelen Station, line 2 runs to the Brouwerij stop, just fifty metres away. The route from the stop to the hotel entrance is even and step-free. Those arriving by car from the E19 will reach the hotel within a few minutes via the ring road.
