Mechelen Toy Museum
The Mechelen Toy Museum is a unique museum that tells the story of toys and games through an impressive collection of over 30,000 objects. From medieval playthings to contemporary video games, the museum offers a fascinating journey through the world of play. Since 2024, the museum is housed in a modern building near Mechelen station, with 7,000 square metres of interactive exhibition space where visitors of all ages can play and discover.
The Toy Museum is fully wheelchair accessible. The new building was designed with universal accessibility in mind. All floors are reachable by lift and the exhibition spaces are generously laid out with wide paths. The entrance is step-free. Adapted restrooms are available on several floors. Accessible parking spaces are located near Mechelen station.
The museum sits right next to Mechelen station, which has excellent train connections and is fitted with lifts. Bus stops are also available in the station area. A visit combines well with a walk through the historic centre of Mechelen or a visit to St. Rumbold's Cathedral.
