Hidrodoe Play Park Herentals
Hidrodoe in Herentals is an interactive experience centre dedicated to water, ideal for families with curious children. Inside, dozens of experiments reveal how water works, where tap water comes from and why water is so precious. The combination of playful elements and scientific explanation makes Hidrodoe both educational and relaxing. Outside there is a sprawling playground with fountains, water channels and pumps where children can splash about on warm days.
Accessibility at Hidrodoe is excellent. The entire indoor route is barrier-free and there is a lift to the upper floor. The interactive experiments stand on tables that a wheelchair can roll under, and all explanatory panels are placed at seated height. Outside, the main paths through the water playground are paved and easy to navigate. Accessible toilets are provided on the ground floor and near the cafeteria. A wheelchair can be borrowed free of charge at the reception desk.
Hidrodoe has a spacious car park with accessible spaces close to the entrance. The centre is recommended on rainy days for the indoor route and on warm summer days for the outdoor water playground. Combine with a visit to the Netepark Herentals just five minutes away for a full day out in the Antwerp Kempen.
