Restaurant Borinage in Mons brings the regional cuisine of the mining region in the heart of Hainaut to the table in a contemporary way. The menu is an ode to the robust Borinage tradition with modernised dishes such as carbonade flamande, braised oxtail, local escaveche and homemade tarts. The wine list features French classics alongside several Belgian wines. The interior is contemporary with references to the industrial past of the region.

The entrance is barrier-free from the pavement. The dining room on the ground floor has wide passageways between tables and staff are happy to move chairs for a wheelchair. The adapted toilet is on the ground floor and equipped with grab bars, a lowered washbasin and ample manoeuvring space. Reservation is strongly recommended, mentioning your accessibility needs.

Parking is best done at Parking Grand-Place or Parking Square Roosevelt, both with disabled spaces and short walking distances. The Grand-Place of Mons has some cobbled sections, but flatter side streets are available. Mons station is fifteen minutes away by wheelchair via an accessible route. Combine your visit with an afternoon at BAM Mons, the Mons Memorial Museum or a roll through the sloping centre (some sections are steeper).
