The Centre de la Dentelle in Binche is the only specialised centre in Belgium entirely devoted to the world-famous Binche lace. This special handmade bobbin lace technique with very fine thread and characteristic floral motifs has been closely associated with the town of Binche since the 17th century and is on the UNESCO list of intangible heritage. The museum shows an extensive collection of historic pieces, illustrates the various techniques via videos and interactive panels, and offers continuous live demonstrations by local lacemakers.

Accessibility is partial but more than sufficient to experience the whole museum. The main entrance has been adapted with a wheelchair ramp. The main exhibition rooms on the ground floor are step-free and have plenty of room for wheelchair users. An accessible toilet is provided on the same floor. The upper floor with the workshop and library is only reachable via a historic staircase and is therefore not accessible, but craft demonstrations are specifically organised on the ground floor.

The immediate surroundings of the museum partly consist of cobblestones typical of the historic centre of Binche. Accessible parking spaces are available on the Grand-Place, about 200 metres away. A visit to the Centre de la Dentelle combines perfectly with the famous Carnival of Binche (in spring) or with a visit to the nearby Musée International du Carnaval et du Masque, which is also partially accessible.
