Lacs de l'Eau d'Heure
The Lacs de l'Eau d'Heure form the largest water recreation area in Belgium, situated on the border of the provinces of Hainaut and Namur. The site comprises five reservoir lakes with a combined water surface of more than 600 hectares, surrounded by forests and rolling hills. It is a popular destination for water sports, walking and relaxation in nature.
Accessibility at the site is good. The walk along the main dam is fully paved and flat, making it ideal for wheelchair users. The visitor centre at the Plate Taille dam offers panoramic views over the lakes and is wheelchair accessible. Adapted toilets are available at the visitor centre and at the main recreation points. The paved paths along the shores offer several options for shorter or longer walks.
The recreation area is accessible via the E42 and the N5 and has multiple car parks with PMR spaces. There are various catering options and picnic areas along the lakes. The area is open year-round, though some facilities are seasonal. The Lacs de l'Eau d'Heure make an excellent destination for a day trip combining nature, exercise and relaxation.
