Celtic Museum
The Musée des Celtes, or Celtic Museum, in Libramont offers a captivating journey through Celtic civilisation in the Ardennes. This original museum, located on the town square of Libramont-Chevigny, presents archaeological discoveries from the region and brings Celtic culture to life in an interactive and accessible way. From jewellery and tools to weapons and religious objects, the museum paints a vivid picture of a civilisation that left a lasting mark on the Ardennes.
Accessibility at the museum is good. Four PMR parking spaces are located nearby, 25 to 50 metres from the entrance. The museum is reached via a concrete pathway, and at the staircase leading to the museum entrance, you can request assistance to use a lift located in an adjacent building. The museum has developed special facilities for a tactile visit, adapted for persons with disabilities and visually impaired visitors, with interactive elements that can also be operated from a wheelchair. Adapted toilets are located in another building, outside the museum, near car park 2.
The Celtic Museum is centrally located in Libramont, which is accessible by train and serves as a hub in the Belgian Ardennes. The museum collaborates with All Access (Province of Luxembourg) for optimal accessibility. A visit is ideally combined with an exploration of the surrounding Ardennes countryside.
