Musical Instruments Museum (MIM) Brussels
The Musical Instrument Museum, commonly known as MIM, is housed in the stunning Art Nouveau Old England building on the Mont des Arts in Brussels. The museum holds one of the world's most important collections of musical instruments, with over eight thousand pieces from every continent and era. Through an ingenious infrared headphone system, visitors can listen to the sounds of the instruments on display as they walk through the galleries. On the top floor, a restaurant offers a magnificent panoramic view over the Brussels rooftops.
MIM is fully wheelchair accessible. Lifts serve all exhibition floors and the galleries are spacious enough to navigate comfortably in a wheelchair. Adapted restrooms are available on various floors. Visitors with a disability pay a reduced admission fee of 2 euros. The museum is not only accessible for wheelchair users, but also offers provisions for visitors with visual, hearing or intellectual disabilities. Seating is provided throughout the museum.
MIM is located on the Mont des Arts, close to Brussels-Central station. The metro stations Gare Centrale and Park are within walking distance and have lifts. Reserved accessible parking spaces are available in the vicinity. The museum combines ideally with a visit to the Magritte Museum, the Royal Museums of Fine Arts or the nearby Brussels Park.
