Olympic Sports Centre Kattevennen Genk
The Olympic sports centre of Genk, located on the green edge near Kattevennen, is one of the most modern sports complexes in Limburg. It features an athletics track, a large sports hall, specialised training rooms for judo, combat sports and doe-athletics among others, and outdoor sports fields. Elite athletes and youth teams train there alongside recreational athletes and adapted-sports programmes. The centre places strong emphasis on a healthy, broad sports experience for all ages and levels.
The infrastructure is built completely step-free. The main entrance and circulation areas are spacious, with automatic doors. Adapted changing rooms and showers are available in every section. The athletics track and sports hall are suitable for wheelchair sports such as wheelchair basketball and racerunning, and local clubs offer guided training sessions. Accessible toilets are available on multiple levels and the signage uses clear pictograms.
Accessible parking spaces are located right in front of the main entrance. The sports centre is easily reached by car via the E314 and by accessible city bus from the centre of Genk. Combine a visit with a wheelchair-friendly walk in Kattevennen or a trip to C-Mine for an active day in Genk.
