Pairi Daiza: Wheelchair Accessible?
Pairi Daiza in Brugelette, in the province of Hainaut, is one of the largest and most award-winning animal parks in Europe. The park covers 75 hectares and is home to more than 7,000 animals from all continents, grouped in themed worlds inspired by the animals' cultures of origin. From the Chinese garden with its giant pandas to the African savanna landscape and the Australian outback, Pairi Daiza offers a journey around the world in a single day.
Accessibility at Pairi Daiza is good. The main paths are paved and wide enough for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. A wheelchair rental service is available, and the park also operates an accessible tourist train. Adapted toilets are distributed throughout the park. Most buildings, restaurants and shops have step-free access. Given the size of the park, it is advisable to plan your route in advance and schedule sufficient rest breaks.
Pairi Daiza is accessible via the E42 and has a very large car park with PMR spaces near the entrance. Companions of visitors with disabilities receive a discount on the entrance fee. The park is open from February to January with varying hours by season. A visit to Pairi Daiza is a full day out that combines nature, architecture and culture in a unique way.
