Park van Schoten
The Park van Schoten surrounds the neo-Gothic Schoten Castle and forms the green heart of this municipality north of Antwerp. The park includes a large pond, old avenues, flower beds and a playground. The castle today houses a catering venue and meeting space. Each year the park serves as the setting for the Schoten International Folklore Festival.
The main paths in the park are wide and paved, with limited elevation differences. A loop along the pond is easy for wheelchair users and rollator walkers, with benches in several places to rest. Accessible toilets are available at the castle's catering venue during opening hours. The entrance on Kasteeldreef is barrier-free.
A free car park with disabled parking spaces lies next to the main entrance. The park is accessible by bus and tram from Antwerp, with stops a few minutes wheelchair distance away. For residents and visitors alike, the park is a pleasant place to walk, picnic or combine a visit to the centre of Schoten with a green break.
