Provincial Domain Dommelhof
Provincial Domain Dommelhof in Pelt is the Limburg provincial domain for performing arts, culture and sport, with a particular focus on inclusion. As the first cultural centre in Flanders, opened in 1967, Dommelhof has played a pioneering role in making art and sport accessible. One of its unique assets is the Klankenbos (Sound Forest), the largest collection of sound art in a public space in Europe, where visitors discover artworks that produce sounds and noises as they walk through the forest.
Wheelchair accessibility is very good. The building is wheelchair-friendly with adapted facilities. Dommelhof is a pioneer in G-sport (disabled sport) and offers specialised fitness guidance along with both regular and adapted sports facilities. The theatre hall, dance studio and other indoor spaces are accessible. The outdoor areas, including the Klankenbos, are reachable via paved paths.
The domain has sufficient parking with disabled parking spaces and accessible sanitary facilities. Dommelhof also offers comfortable hotel accommodation for artists in residence and visitors. With four indoor rehearsal and creation spaces, outdoor areas for circus tents and a technical workshop, Dommelhof is a unique place where culture, sport and inclusion come together.
