Begijnhof Sint-Truiden
The Beguinage of Sint-Truiden is one of the thirteen Flemish beguinages listed as UNESCO World Heritage. Founded in the 13th century, it still retains its characteristic atmosphere with white cottages, a church and a central square. The former beguinage church houses the Provincial Museum of Religious Art, featuring valuable wall paintings.
The beguinage is partially accessible for wheelchair users. The main streets are cobbled, which can feel bumpy, but there are smoother paths along the edges. The courtyard and church can be reached via adapted entrances. Accessible toilets are available in the neighbouring museum and nearby cafés.
Parking spaces for people with reduced mobility are available near the beguinage. It lies within walking distance of the centre of Sint-Truiden and can be combined with a visit to the Grote Markt, the city park or the abbey site.
