Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium

The Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium form one of the most important art collections in Europe, bringing together six interconnected museums under a single institutional umbrella in the centre of Brussels. The Old Masters Museum features works by Bruegel, Rubens and Van Dyck, while the Magritte Museum devotes five floors to the surrealist master. The Fin-de-Siècle Museum, the Modern Museum and dedicated spaces for Antoine Wiertz and Constantin Meunier complete the ensemble, offering more than 20,000 works that span six centuries of artistic achievement.

All galleries within the museum complex are wheelchair accessible. Elevators and ramps connect the different levels, including the subterranean galleries of the Modern Museum, which descend several storeys below street level. Free wheelchair rental is available at the main reception desk on request. Adapted toilets are located at convenient points throughout the buildings, and museum staff are trained to offer assistance where needed.

The museums stand on the Rue de la Régence, close to the Place Royale and a short distance from the BELvue Museum and the Royal Palace. There is no dedicated on-site parking, but several public car parks in the neighbourhood provide PMR spaces. The closest metro stations — Gare Centrale and Parc — both have elevator access, making public transport a practical option for wheelchair users.
