Sportoase Kortrijk Weide
Sportoase Kortrijk Weide is the large urban sports and swimming centre of Kortrijk, built on the former Kortrijk Weide site between the station and the Leieplein. The complex comprises a 50-metre competition pool, a recreational pool with waves, a toddler pool, a fitness room, group classes and a wellness zone with saunas and a steam bath. Thanks to its central location it is very popular with city residents, commuters and day visitors.
Because the building was completed only a few years ago, it meets modern accessibility standards. Barrier-free entrances, wide lifts and automatic doors are everywhere. Adapted changing cabins with their own shower, fold-down seat and grab rails are available on both the sports and recreation sides. A lift chair helps wheelchair users into the main pool; the entry pool also has a gently sloping access with handrails. The fitness and wellness zones are reachable without stairs, with adapted sanitary facilities on every floor.
The site has an underground car park with reserved spaces near the lift. Kortrijk station is five minutes' rolling distance away, via a fully paved and barrier-free square. The bus stops at Kortrijk Weide are equipped with raised platforms for easy boarding. Around the building runs a level and paved route connecting to the Leie banks and the new city passage.
