Antwerp Central Station is often called the most beautiful railway cathedral in the world. The eclectic building from 1905, designed by Louis Delacenserie, combines natural stone, marble and a spectacular 75-metre-high glass dome. After a thorough renovation completed in 2007, the station serves both local and international trains on four levels stacked on top of each other.

The station is very wheelchair-friendly. All platforms, on all four levels, are reachable by lift and escalator. The large central hall and the side wings have flat, wide marble floors. Adapted toilets are available on the middle level. The SNCB/NMBS Assistance service offers free support to and from the train, which can be booked via 02 528 28 28.

Several reduced-mobility parking spaces are available in the area around the station, including in the underground car park at Koningin Astridplein. In front of the station is the Diamant pre-metro stop, which is likewise fully accessible. A visit to the station combines perfectly with the nearby Antwerp Zoo and the Diamond Quarter.
