Antwerp City Hall is a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture, built in the 16th century by Cornelis Floris de Vriendt among others. The ornate facade with statues and coats of arms dominates the Grote Markt, in the heart of the historic centre. Since 1999 the building has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of the Flemish Belfries.

After a thorough restoration, accessibility has been significantly improved. A side entrance provides wheelchair access to the ground floor, and a new lift connects the main public rooms. Still, not all historic rooms are easily reachable: some stairs, landings and narrow passages remain a challenge. An adapted toilet is provided.

Parking on the Grote Markt itself is not possible, as it is partly paved with cobblestones. The nearby underground Groenplaats and Grote Markt car parks have PRM spaces and lifts. From there, paved routes lead to the main entrance.
