Leuven Station
Leuven Station combines the historic station building from 1879 with a modern, vaulted station hall opened in 2002 by Samyn and Partners. It is one of the five largest stations in Belgium and an important hub for commuters to Brussels and travellers heading for Brussels Airport, which is directly connected via the Diabolo railway line.
The station is excellent for wheelchair users. All platforms are reachable via lifts and escalators, and the spacious station hall has wide, level passageways. Adapted toilets are available near the main entrance. SNCB/NMBS Assistance offers free support to and from the train, which can be booked via 02 528 28 28 or the online form, at least three hours in advance.
In front of the station is a large, traffic-free square that has been laid out completely flat. Reduced-mobility parking spaces are available in the underground station car park, with a direct lift connection. Within walking distance lie the Oude Markt, the City Hall and the University Library of Leuven.
