The Stropersbos is one of the largest contiguous forest complexes in the Waasland region and stretches across the territory of Stekene and Sint-Gillis-Waas. The area harbours old deciduous forests, pine woods, wet meadows and a mix of damp depressions. It is managed by the Nature and Forest Agency and is popular with walkers, cyclists and nature enthusiasts.

The main paths around the car park and the first section of the walking loop are wide and semi-paved, making them suitable for wheelchair users in dry conditions. Deeper in the forest the paths turn into sandy or unpaved tracks that are less easy to traverse. There is no adapted toilet on site; take this into account when planning a visit.

At the main entrance there is a paved car park with a marked PRM space. The starter loop is well signposted and runs through a varied landscape, with benches at regular intervals.
