The Suikermuseum (Sugar Museum) of Tienen is a unique museum that highlights the rich history of the sugar beet industry in the region. Tienen has been known for centuries as the heart of Belgian sugar production, and this museum brings that story to life in a fascinating way. Through interactive exhibitions and historical objects, you discover how sugar beets were processed and what role the industry played in the development of the city.

The museum is well accessible for wheelchair users. The entrance is step-free and the exhibition spaces are reachable on the ground floor. The paths between the display cases offer ample manoeuvring space. An adapted toilet is available and staff are happy to assist with any accessibility questions.

Around the museum you will find parking spaces with reserved accessible spaces. The museum is within walking distance of the Grote Markt and other sights in the centre of Tienen. A visit to the Suikermuseum can be combined well with a walk through the historic inner city.
