Silver Museum Sterckshof Deurne
The Silver Museum Sterckshof in Deurne is housed in the picturesque Sterckshof, a Neo-Renaissance castle surrounded by Rivierenhof Park. The collection features more than a thousand pieces of Belgian silverware from the 16th to the 20th century, from sacral objects to household items and jewellery. The combination of architecture, park and silver collection makes Sterckshof a unique cultural destination in the Antwerp region.
The museum is partially accessible to wheelchair users. The main entrance is barrier-free thanks to a wooden ramp, and the ground-floor exhibition rooms are easily reachable. A platform lift connects the upper floors. Historic stairs in the oldest part of the castle remain a restriction for a few rooms on the top floor. An adapted toilet with grab rails and sufficient turning space is present in the reception area.
The on-site car park has adapted parking spaces, with a mostly paved connection to the entrance. The surrounding Rivierenhof Park is one of the most accessible parks in Antwerp, with wide paved paths ideal for an extended walk after the museum visit. Visitors with a European Disability Card and their companion receive free admission.
