Brasserie De Sinjoor Mechelen
Brasserie De Sinjoor is a classic brasserie on the IJzerenleen, one of the most picturesque shopping streets in Mechelen. The menu features the well-known Belgian brasserie dishes such as beef stew with fries, vol-au-vent, shrimp croquettes, and seasonal mussels. The interior exudes the atmosphere of a traditional coffee house with modern accents, and in summer the terrace is extended over the pedestrianised section of the IJzerenleen.
The brasserie is accessible via a step-free entrance from the IJzerenleen, which is fully pedestrianised. The ground floor is spacious and has sufficient distance between the tables for a wheelchair or rollator. The adapted toilet is also on the ground floor, but is somewhat more compact in layout than in more modern buildings - the turning space is sufficient for most wheelchairs, although it can feel tight for larger models.
The IJzerenleen itself is completely level and paved with smooth blue limestone. There is no own car park, but the underground IJzerenleen Car Park is a mere fifty metres away with lift and reserved spaces. From Mechelen Station the walk via the Bruul is step-free and about fifteen minutes by manual wheelchair.
