Café Lequet
Café Lequet is an authentic working-class café in Liège that has welcomed a loyal local clientele for generations. Located on the rue du Pot d'Or, close to the Place du Marché, this café has preserved the feel of a true Liège neighbourhood bar: simple furniture, a long counter, local beers at honest prices, and conversations that stretch well into the evening. Café Lequet is an excellent place to experience the popular culture of Liège in an authentic setting that has barely changed over the past few decades.
Accessibility at Café Lequet is limited, which is inherent to the historic building. The entrance has a slight threshold of three centimetres that can be an obstacle for some wheelchairs; it is recommended to call ahead so that staff are ready to assist. The interior is relatively small and can feel cramped when busy. There is no adapted toilet on the premises. Despite these limitations, the café welcomes visitors with disabilities warmly and always tries to find a workable solution.
Café Lequet is located in the historic centre of Liège, within walking distance of the Place Saint-Lambert and the Féronstrée. The surrounding area has largely paved footpaths. TEC bus lines stop at the Place du Marché, two minutes' walk away. Parking is limited in the immediate vicinity due to the narrow streets, but the Parking Saint-Lambert, five minutes away by car, has adapted spaces. Liège-Guillemins station is reachable by bus or taxi.
