Café Rococo Ghent
Café Rococo is one of the most iconic addresses for anyone who wants to discover Ghent by night. Behind a discreet façade hides a cosy night café where candlelight, classical music and warm conversations set the tone. The café became famous as an unpretentious counterpoint to the modern nightlife scene and still attracts a diverse crowd of students, artists, tourists and locals.
The café is partially accessible. The entrance has a small threshold of a few centimetres that can usually be bridged with help. The ground-floor room is on the same level, but it is small and the tables are close together, so manoeuvring with a wheelchair requires care. The toilet is on a lower level, reachable via a staircase, and is not adapted. Wheelchair visitors are best advised to contact the café in advance so the staff can help with entry and reserve a suitable table where you can stay seated.
Café Rococo is in the protected streetscape of Corduwaniersstraat, an area with partly cobbled streets and narrow pavements. For a more comfortable approach, take the alternative route via the Baudelokaai. Reserved parking spaces can be found in Parking Vrijdagmarkt a few minutes away.
