Hotel La Butte aux Bois Lanaken

Hotel La Butte aux Bois is one of the most prestigious hotels in Belgium, located on the edge of the Hoge Kempen National Park in Lanaken. The relais-château is surrounded by a large park with paved paths, ponds and old deciduous trees. Alongside comfortable rooms and suites, the hotel hosts an extensive wellness centre, an indoor swimming pool and the starred restaurant La Source, where chef Ralf Berendsen prepares refined seasonal cuisine with international influences.

Accessibility has been carefully considered. The main entrance is step-free with an electric sliding door, and the large lobby, the seating areas, the restaurant and the bar are all laid out on one level without thresholds. Several rooms on the ground floor and the upper floor (reachable via a spacious lift) are specifically adapted: they feature walk-in showers with fold-down seat, grab rails, a lowered washbasin and enough manoeuvring room. The wellness centre and the swimming pool are also accessible, and the pool has a pool hoist.

The grounds have a spacious car park with several PRM spaces close to the main entrance. The paths in the adjacent park are paved and offer excellent opportunities for a relaxed wheelchair stroll in nature. The hotel is often booked in combination with trips to Maastricht and the Hoge Kempen National Park.
