Restaurant Les Remparts Namur
Restaurant Les Remparts is set in a restored building at the foot of the Namur citadel, just minutes from the confluence of the Meuse and the Sambre. The restaurant offers refined Walloon cuisine with a strong emphasis on seasonal produce from the Condroz and the Hautes Ardennes. The chef works closely with local hunters, cheesemakers and vegetable growers, and the menus change monthly. The wine list prominently features Belgian wines from the Meuse region, alongside a classic French selection.
During a recent renovation, the interior was completely attuned to accessibility. The main entrance is step-free with an automatic door, and the large ground-floor dining room offers wide aisles between the tables. A spacious accessible toilet with all the necessary features is on the same level. The serving staff are trained to comfortably welcome wheelchair users and can reserve a specific table on request.
The restaurant has its own car park with two PRM spaces close to the entrance. The immediate surroundings are mostly flat and offer fine wheelchair-friendly walking opportunities along the Meuse. The cable lift to the citadel, opened in 2021, is fully wheelchair-accessible, so a visit to Les Remparts can be perfectly combined with a trip to the Parc de la Citadelle.
