't Hemelrijck is an atmospheric restaurant in the historic centre of Mechelen, located in a carefully renovated building a few steps from the Grote Markt. The menu is classic Belgian with a contemporary touch: fresh fish, leg of lamb, game dishes in season, and a carefully composed wine list. Lunch often takes place at a calmer pace with a dish of the day and the house soup.

The entrance on the street side is step-free and the access door is wide enough for a standard wheelchair. The dining room is on the ground floor and has an even, smooth floor on which one can wheel comfortably. There is sufficient space between the tables, and the staff happily adjusts the table arrangement when booking. An adapted toilet with grab rails is also available on the ground floor.

Parking in the immediate vicinity is limited to paid on-street parking, but the underground Grote Markt Car Park with lifts and reserved spaces is less than two hundred metres away. Those arriving by train can reach the restaurant step-free from Mechelen Station via the Bruul. The access route is paved with relatively flat natural stone setts.
