Bistro Mario is a classic among Antwerp's Italian addresses. The restaurant has been running for years on a modest menu of fresh pasta, weekly-changing seasonal dishes and a wine list featuring small Italian producers. The interior is homely, with tiled floors, wooden tables and an open bar. The owner greets most guests personally and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.

The entrance is step-free, thanks to a small pavement adaptation made during the last redevelopment of the street. Inside, the dining room is on one level; the tables are well spaced, allowing a wheelchair user to roll through easily to the seating area. The restaurant's toilet is in a smaller, older space and is only partially adapted: the door is narrow. For fully accessible facilities, visitors are directed to a public accessible toilet about a hundred metres away on the same street.

Parking in the inner city is limited. There are a few reserved parking spaces in the blue zone in the surrounding streets. By tram or bus, Bistro Mario is easy to reach from the city centre; low-floor bus stops are a few minutes' push away over a paved pavement.
