The Boerenkrijgmuseum in Overmere (a sub-municipality of Berlare) tells the story of the Peasants' War of 1798, the uprising of Flemish peasants against French rule that began in Overmere. Through authentic objects, documents, weapons, and models, visitors get a lively picture of this episode in the country's history.

The museum is housed in a historic building. The main entrance has a small threshold, but a portable ramp is available on request. The ground floor with the main exhibition rooms is level and wheelchair accessible. An adapted toilet is present in the adjoining town hall. Some rooms on the first floor are only reachable by stairs. Disabled parking spaces are located on the Donklaan across from the museum.

The Donkmeer nearby is an accessible nature reserve that combines well with a museum visit. Reservation is recommended, especially for groups. For wheelchair users an adapted route with rest points can be mapped out; a customised guided tour is also possible.
