♿ Wheelchair accessible

Brouwerij Cantillon, located in Anderlecht just next to Brussels South station, is one of the last authentic geuze breweries in the world. Since 1900 the family has brewed traditional lambic here using spontaneous fermentation, with a coolship under the roof and fermentation in oak barrels. The Musée Bruxellois de la Gueuze takes visitors on a self-guided tour of the old brewing installations, fermentation hall and maturation cellar, concluding with a tasting of geuze and kriek.

Due to the historic character of the building, accessibility is limited. The ground floor with reception, brewing hall and barrel room is mostly level and reachable for wheelchair users, although there are some uneven spots and thresholds. The cellar and the coolship in the attic are reached via stairs and are not wheelchair accessible. The toilet is small and only partially adapted. It is advisable to contact the brewery in advance to arrange a shortened guided tour.

Parking in the area around the South station is difficult; public transport is the best option, with tram, metro and train a few minutes' walk away. The streets around the brewery are paved but the pavements can be narrow. Despite its limitations, Cantillon remains a unique experience for anyone wanting to get to know the authentic Brussels beer culture.
