Brouwerij Rodenbach Roeselare
Brouwerij Rodenbach in Roeselare has been brewing the legendary Flemish red-brown beers Rodenbach and Rodenbach Grand Cru since 1821. The brewery's showpiece is the foeder hall with 294 enormous oak barrels in which the beer matures for up to two years. A visit takes you along the old malting, the brewhouse, the foeder hall and finally the tasting, where you come to appreciate the characteristic sour-sweet character of Rodenbach as heritage officially recognised by UNESCO.
Accessibility is generally good for wheelchair users, with some historic limitations. The reception, shop and tasting room are flat and free of thresholds. The foeder hall is largely accessible via a level entrance. Parts of the tour through older buildings have a few thresholds or narrow passages; the guide takes this into account and offers an adapted route. An accessible toilet is available in the visitor centre.
There is ample parking on site with accessible spaces near the entrance of the visitor centre. Roeselare is easy to reach via the E403 and by train, the station being a short taxi ride away. Reservations for a tour are mandatory, and if a wheelchair user is mentioned the best possible route is planned.
