Beauraing in the south of Namur province became internationally known through the Marian apparitions of 1932-1933 and has since been an important Marian sanctuary. The current pilgrimage site comprises the original prayer garden by the hawthorn, a large modern basilica and a serenely laid-out park. The town itself has a small-scale historic centre with a few shops and hospitality venues around the Place de Seurre.

The modern basilica is easily accessible via a ramp and inside has a level floor with a wide central aisle. The pilgrimage square itself is fully paved and offers wheelchair users plenty of room to move. The original chapel by the hawthorn has a small threshold where help can be requested when busy. The town park has wide paved walking paths with benches at regular intervals. Adapted toilets are available in the sanctuary's visitor reception.

Disabled parking spaces are amply provided both at the basilica and at the Place de Seurre. Beauraing station offers assistance on request. Combine with an outing to the Chateau de Veves a quarter of an hour's drive away, or with a rest break at one of the cafes on the Place de Seurre. The whole centre can be explored at a quiet pace in half a day.
