Choco-Story Bruges
Choco-Story in Bruges is a unique chocolate museum that tells the complete history of cocoa and chocolate, from the Mayans and Aztecs to the Belgian praline tradition. The museum is housed in a historic building on Wijnzakstraat, close to the Markt, and offers interactive exhibitions, historic objects and live chocolate-making demonstrations by a master chocolatier, including a tasting of artisanal pralines.
Despite the historic character of the building, accessibility for wheelchair users is well organised. The entrance has been made accessible and all floors can be reached by lift. The exhibition spaces are spacious and step-free. The chocolate demonstration is easy to follow from a wheelchair. An accessible toilet is available in the museum.
Parking in the Bruges city centre is limited; the 't Zand, Biekorf or Pandreitje car parks are a few minutes away and have accessible spaces. The streets around the museum are partly paved with cobblestones, which requires extra attention. The museum combines excellently with other Bruges attractions such as the Belfry or Minnewaterpark for a full day out.
