Provincial Domain of Mirwart
The Provincial Domain of Mirwart covers more than 1,300 hectares of forest in the heart of the Ardennes. The estate includes a historic castle, an arboretum with hundreds of tree species, fishing ponds, and an extensive network of walking paths. It is one of the largest provincial domains in Belgium and a paradise for nature lovers.
The visitor centre at the entrance is fully wheelchair accessible with adapted toilets. An adapted walking path of about 2 kilometres leads through the arboretum over paved and semi-paved surfaces. This path is relatively flat and suitable for wheelchair users. The longer forest trails are less suitable due to the hilly terrain and unpaved surfaces.
Spacious parking with disabled bays is available at the visitor centre. The estate regularly organises nature activities and educational programmes. In spring, the arboretum is particularly beautiful with blooming rhododendrons. Dogs are welcome on a lead.
