Espace gallo-romain d'Ath
The Espace gallo-romain d'Ath is an archaeological museum in the city of Ath in the Province of Hainaut. The museum displays the results of archaeological excavations in the region, with as its centrepiece two exceptionally well-preserved Gallo-Roman boats that were found in the nearby River Dender. The museum offers a fascinating journey through the history of the region.
The museum is excellently accessible for wheelchair users. The modern building features a step-free entrance, a lift to all floors, and wide, clearly laid out exhibition spaces. The display cases and information panels are placed at an accessible height. Adapted toilets are available on the ground floor.
The museum is located in the centre of Ath, near the Grote Markt. Parking is available in the immediate area, including reserved spaces for persons with reduced mobility. Ath is reachable by train and the station is within walking distance. A visit can be combined with the Tour Burbant or a walk along the Dender.
