Fondation Folon
The Fondation Folon is a museum dedicated to the work of Belgian artist Jean-Michel Folon (1934-2005), world-renowned for his poetic watercolours, sculptures and illustrations. The museum is housed in the beautifully restored farmhouse of the Château de La Hulpe, set within the green Domaine Solvay. The permanent collection comprises more than 500 works, including paintings, sculptures, engravings and multimedia art that reflect Folon's dreamlike and humanistic vision.
The permanent exhibition on the ground floor is fully accessible to wheelchair users. A wheelchair can be borrowed at reception. Adapted toilets are available and the entrance is step-free. Please note: the upper floor of the museum is not accessible to wheelchair users, as there is no lift. PMR parking spaces are available in the estate car park.
The Fondation Folon is located in the Domaine Solvay in La Hulpe, just a fifteen-minute drive from Brussels. The estate itself is also well worth a visit with its extensive park and walking paths. The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday. By public transport it can be reached from La Hulpe station, but the distance to the museum is quite considerable, making the car a more practical option.
