The Frietmuseum in Bruges is the only museum in the world entirely dedicated to Belgium's national pride: the fries. Located in the magnificent historic Saaihalle on Vlamingstraat, a building dating from the 14th century, the museum tells the complete history of the potato and the evolution of the fries we know today. Interactive displays, historic objects and a tasting of genuine Belgian fries in the museum friterie in the cellar make for a flavourful experience.

Despite the historic nature of the building, the museum is well accessible to wheelchair users. The entrance has been adapted via a ramp, and all floors, including the friterie in the cellar, are reachable by lift. The exhibition rooms are spacious and step-free. An adapted toilet is available. The museum friterie has seating suitable for wheelchair users.

Parking is limited in the city centre; the Biekorf or Kraanplein car parks are a few minutes away and have accessible spaces. Part of Vlamingstraat is paved with cobblestones, which requires extra care for wheelchair users. The museum combines excellently with other Bruges attractions such as the Belfry, Choco-Story or Jan van Eyckplein, all within short walking distance.
