Heuvelland Tourist Office Kemmel
The Heuvelland Tourist Office is located in the heart of Kemmel and forms the ideal starting point for discovering the West Flemish hills. The region, with its Kemmelberg, Rodeberg and Monteberg, is rich in nature, World War I heritage and vineyards. The visitor centre provides information, temporary exhibitions and advice on wheelchair-friendly routes through the Heuvelland landscape. Themed packages on the British and French fronts are also available.
The reception building is completely step-free and equipped with an accessible toilet. Information is presented at wheelchair height and the welcome staff can recommend adapted routes. Several walking paths in the area are partly paved and partly semi-paved with dolomite or gravel. The most wheelchair-friendly routes lie around Kemmel itself and towards Lettenberg, a British command post. Steep slopes such as the Kemmelberg remain more difficult.
Accessible parking spaces are located right in front of the visitor centre on the village square. The centre of Kemmel is flat and pleasant to roll through. Combine the visit with the accessible parts of the war heritage, the In Flanders Fields Museum in Ypres or a wheelchair-friendly walk in the Gardens of Heuvelland.
