The Mining Museum on the be-MINE site in Beringen tells the impressive story of coal mining in Limburg. In the authentic mine buildings, interactive exhibitions show what life was like above and below ground. The mining site itself is a protected monument and one of Belgium's most important industrial heritage sites.

The museum is fully wheelchair accessible. All exhibition spaces can be reached via lifts and ramps. Audiovisual presentations are subtitled. Adapted toilets are available on multiple floors. The outdoor route across the mining grounds follows paved paths past the imposing mine buildings, headframes and slag heaps.

Ample parking with accessible spaces is available on the mining grounds. The be-MINE site also includes an adventure mountain, a swimming pond and catering facilities. The mining museum combines excellently with a visit to De Kolonie, the restored miners' neighbourhood within walking distance.
